Short Description | The Transylvanian Furniture Cluster was created in 2012 as a legal entity association type and its main activity resides in the manufacture of furniture, being located in the North-West Region of Romania, where most of the wood industry is concentrated. The partnership organisation was established at the initiative of several legal entities to assist the furniture industry, with the aim of supporting the competitiveness of the cluster and also its members at national and international level. Since its establishment, among the members can be found both furniture manufacturing companies (21 companies), but also R&D bodies ( 4 research organizations/ 3 university), as well as “catalysts” (7 public institutions).The Transylvanian Furniture Cluster is the single furniture cluster founded in the North-West Region of Romania, where the Romanian wood furniture industry is concentrated. The cluster was created in 2012 as a legal entity association, it’s foundation being based on ensuring the principles of transparency and being continuously open to cooperate with any interested entity which could bring a contribution to the cluster’s value chain. The mission of the cluster is to develop competitive products for both domestic and foreign markets, designed to successfully satisfy customer requirements in the filed of furniture products.The vision of the cluster organisation is to strengthened competitiveness and innovation capacity of small and medium-sized furniture industries, members of the Transylvanian Furniture Cluster. It will provide a platform for cooperation and networking of wood furniture industries, representation of interests, educational institutions, research and public administration. On short-term, the cluster’s vision consists of its development in the North-Western Region, attracting as many new members as possible from the furniture industry (including manufacturers or suppliers of materials / auxiliary services / complementary), implementation of strategic investments and programs which aim to create products and / or innovative technologies as a result of materials used, design and functionality, through R&D units that are or will be part of the cluster. |

We offer | Transylvanian Furniture Cluster can provide the following: existence of common information and communication channels; development of a harmonious interaction between all stake-holders operating in the value chain in the furniture industry; develop a platform for research, development and innovation (drive the private sector towards innovation and technology transfer); support and promote project of common interest, including projects abroad; developing partnerships at home and abroad to achieve the objectives of the association; support in accessing new markets; identify opportunities for collaboration towards financial sup-port through various programs, partnerships, tools and / or banking operations; quick access to the latest trends in technology specific, materials, innovations and markets; organization and participation / forums, symposiums, confer-ences, seminars, debates, etc., in the country or abroad. |
We ask for | Developing a brand promoted locally and regionally, to be known and appreciated by consumers; Promoting a positive image of the cluster in order to attract new members.; Attracting new members especially in the areas where the value chain of the cluster presents a shortage of a certain furniture industry specialization; Develop a comprehensive network in the industry and its pro-motion towards stakeholders and the general public by partic-ipating in specific events dedicated to the furniture industry; Integrating cluster members in the value chain to reduce pro-duction costs and raising funds for cluster’s development; Promote the need for quality certifications of the cluster and business partners, mainly to those partners who have high standards of quality certificates. |
